ANNOUNCING THE WAKE UP AND READ BOOK DRIVE!

Attention, Cary High: we need your new and gently used children’s books!
During the month of February, WAKE up and Read will collect new and gently-used books for children up to 12 years of age.
The WAKE Up and Read campaign was launched to address one of the keys to lifelong success; reading on grade-level by 3rd grade. Sadly, many Wake County children have no books in their home and arrive for kindergarten without the knowledge and experiences they need to excel. Our goal is to ensure that more children from low-income families have the tools and resources they need to become lifelong readers and learners. Working together, we can build stronger students and a stronger community.
Cary High can make a difference in our community just by donating books! Please clear your cluttered shelves of books your kids have outgrown, or bring in favorites of your own, so that we can help Wake county children grow up loving books.
Look for the book collection bin at the Main Office – and please help us fill it!

Congratulations Marksmanship Team!

The Cary High NJROTC Marksmanship Team recently competed in the nation-wide Secretary of the Navy Air Rifle Competition. Cary’s varsity team placed an impressive 9th out of 58 teams in North & South Carolina and scored higher than 87% of the 617 teams who competed in the entire nation. Congratulation to seniors Johnathan Tran, Dana Troung, Daniel Wilson and freshman Charlotte Galt for their impressive achievment! Cary’s junior varsity team also performed very well. They placed 22nd in the Carolinas and scored higher than 70% of all the teams who competed across the country. Congratulations to juniors Cullen Kerr and Gerald Smith and sophomores Brendan Serianni and John Smilowski for their accomplishment!
